Yvonne van der Merwe

MA (Industrial Psychology), Advanced Labour Law

As a registered Industrial Psychologist, Yvonne van der Merwe holds a Master’s Degree in Industrial Psychology from the University of Stellenbosch and an Advanced Labour Law Diploma from UNISA. She is an accredited facilitator and has completed various facilitation and assessment skills courses in recent years.

The fledgling stages of her corporate career saw her lecture at the University of Stellenbosch for six years, after which she developed Industrial Relations policies and procedures and presented related training material, as a corporate Industrial Relations Consultant. She also played an integral part as a member of a project team which spearheaded change initiatives within the Transport Sector. Having progressed through the ranks, she concluded her corporate career as a Senior Manager within the Transnet Group, taking overall responsibility for the Training and Development Department, and serving on the Management Board of Esselenpark.

Over the past eighteen years Yvonne chose to specialise primarily in two main areas as an independent consultant, i.e. in the Assessment and Development of human potential, respectively. Amongst others, the following interventions signpost her experience in this regard: Facilitating EQ workshops on all levels across a wide spectrum of companies, Assessment of candidates on all levels within organisations purposes of selection , Conducting/participating in Assessment Centres for purposes of Leadership Development on all levels within the organisation , Compilation of a Competency Frameworks , Undertaking Organisational Development interventions , Training on HR Best Practices , Facilitating Leadership Skills Training, Service Excellence and IR Training , as well as the Development of Coaches and Mentors.

Linda Shaanika

Linda teamed up with LDA CONSULTING NAMIBIA as a Strategic Partner in November 2013 to continue her passion of enhancing the Namibian corporates’ competitiveness and transforming their organizational performance.

In addition to her formal qualifications, Linda attended various professional, leadership and management development courses. Linda possesses a wealth of practical experience as consultant and employee in the areas of performance management and assessments, organisational development, knowledge management, training and development and business development. Linda commands good presentation and facilitation skills.

Her experience includes work as Head Organizational Development and Performance Management at the Motor Vehicle Accident Fund of Namibia (MVA Fund) – responsible for organizational development and performance management, continuous improvement and providing support for learning and developing people and work process to enhance organizational performance. Linda also spent time at Namdeb Diamond Corporation as Head Innovation and Knowledge Management and was then was seconded to Namdeb’s Change Management and Turn-around Strategy Project to serve as the Project Co-ordinator for the eleven (11) work-streams of the transformational program.

Upon her return from further studies in England in 2004, Linda did some consulting work at a non-governmental organisation, Junior Achievements Namibia (JAN). Her primary role was to market JAN programs and operations at various schools and youth centres in Windhoek, adapting JAN programs and localising materials to suit needs of young entrepreneurs in Namibia, and planning projects and writing proposals for funding.

Also, Linda worked as a Consulting Partner/Director for Generic Development and Consulting Enterprise CC. Organisational development, change management and performance management were some of the key consulting interventions that she undertook.

Linda is a member of the International Academy of Project Management, Member Number: 115050 and Namibia Institute for People Management. Linda is a Partner/Director of TunElago Investments CC since November 2013.

Sharon van der Westhuizen

Sharon is chief executive officer of Specialist Research and heads up our research operation. She has 20 years experience in qualitative and quantitative market research, and a level of expertise that equips her to interview decision-makers and policy-setters at the highest levels within the private and public sector.

Sharon is actively involved in analysis and in designing and writing reports. She presents our findings to corporate clients with special emphasis on individual client needs and assists our corporate clients with strategic planning and implementation of research findings.

Marion Stone

Marion is an experienced independent performance consultant that assists small and medium sized organisations to reach their goals by unlocking the motivation and performance of their employees. She believes in building connections between people and the organisation and her consultancy, Cornerstone Connections, offers performance consulting, facilitation and training that builds high performance.

Her key focus areas include creating performance management processes that drive engagement and business results, developing managers out of technical specialists, facilitating teams to high performance and implementing behavioural feedback processes. At the start of her career, Marion worked as a process engineer within the manufacturing sector, but her interest in people led her into a technical training role. Her work then expanded to include developing organisational development solutions that improve performance.

Emerging from her diverse background is a practical approach and a real commitment to making a difference to individuals and the business. She has worked in South Africa, UK and Europe as a manager and a consultant in various business sectors from manufacturing to financial services. Her articles appear in HR publications and she regularly presents topics at the Chamber of Commerce and other industry organisations.

Marion holds a first degree in chemistry (UCT) and an M.Sc. in Strategic Training and Development (University of Surrey Roehampton). She is accredited by the South African Board for People Practices as a Chartered HR Practitioner.


A simple one page strategic plan executed through an on-line performance management system

ec@ps is delivered in a practical interactive session that produces a One Page Strategic Plan, together with supportive Individual Performance Plans. The web based execution system ensures the process is monitored and results are achieved. Any existing Strategic Plan or Balanced Scorecard can be incorporated into the ec@ps model with ease.

In addition ec@ps provides an on-line performance management system that allows for electronic job descriptions that focus on key performance areas and success measures. The tool allows for setting appraisal periods, monthly self-performance monitoring and an effective electronic formal appraisal process with reporting capabilities.
